Anjuna Flea Market

Goa is one of the only state of India, where there exists a Flea Market of International Flavor which is organized bang on the shore of Anjuna beach.

Way back in the early 60’s, when the Hippie movement was at its peak, these so called, “Flower Children” had made Goa their latest paradise and holiday destination for many years to come.

When these varied foreign tourists, ran out of money and had a contentful holiday, they used to dispose of whatever belongings they had by sitting in and around the shores of Anjuna beach. Their favorite hanging out location was around Sea Breeze Bar that is as old as the Flea Market. As a matter of fact, the residential house of Mr. Francis & Fly was in existence much before the Flea Market started.

The heart and main center of Anjuna Flea market thrives and throbs with excitement in and all around the Flea Market Restaurant of Sea Breeze Bar & Restaurant. Every Season the Anjuna Flea Market begins within the area surrounding Sea Breeze Bar and then overflows into all over Saint Michael Vaddo (ward) and the agricultural fields too. But as the season ends in May, once again the Anjuna Flea Market ends with most of the Vendors & Hawkers stalls existing around Sea Breeze Bar.

Originally the Flea Market started by the “Hippies” way back in the 1960’s and 1970’s today has become a full-fledged tourist market with traders participating with their products and wares from all over India. Presently the Anjuna Flea Market has metamorphosed (changed) into an International Tourist Day Beach Market with more than 2000 plus sellers exhibiting, displaying and selling their products on the spot.

The Anjuna Flea Market is a “Hagglers Market” meaning, if you love to bargain for a best buy, then this market is for you. The Anjuna Flea Market is a full Day Trip Event, with the market starting at Sunrise and ending at Sunset. Traders start setting up their temporary shops as early as 06am with sales starting by 08am and they all wind up at the beginning of Sunset as soon as it gets dark.
